Northern India Engineering College (NIEC)

Northern India Engineering College is an engineering college in Delhi, India and established in 2003. It is affiliated with GGSIPU with a campus spread over 8 acres. NIEC is located in Shastri Park, Delhi. The college has been established and is being managed by Babu Banarasi Das Educational Society, under the chairmanship of Dr. Akhilesh Das, Secretary and MP (Rajya Sabha) and former Mayor of Lucknow.

Institutional Linkages

NIEC is institutional member of IEEE, IIM Lucknow CSI & Confederation of Indian Industries (CII) and has associations with ASOCHAM (UP), AIMA/ LMA, CDRI.

Admissions

  • Eligibility Criteria
Any recognized Bachelor’s degree in any discipline with a minimum of 50% marks in aggregate OR Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Technology or any other subject with minimum of 50% marks in aggregate or any qualification recognized as equivalent thereto with minimum of 50% marks in aggregate OR Passed the Final Examination of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India or England, The Institute of Cost and works Accountants of India or England or The Institute of Company Secretaries of India.
  • Admission Procedure Admission of the students is made on the basis of CET (Combined Entrance Test) & Counseling held by Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University, Delhi, for Regular Seats.
  • Fee Structure The Fee structure followed is, as prescribed by the Govt. of NCT of Delhi for the academic program being run by self-financing institutes on the basis of state fee committee’s decision.

    Campus life

    NIEC Campus is spread in about 8 acres, located at Facility Center, Shastri Park (near Delhi Metro Station), New Delhi. NIEC, New Delhi starts operation w.e.f. Academic Session 2003-2004.

    Inter-Departmental Competitions

    Indoor and outdoor games like Table Tennis, Carrom, Chess, Volley ball are installed in the college.

    Fnord '08

    (External Link) FNORD is NIEC's annual technical festival. The student of NIEC in collaboration with the Industry hosts NIEC's annual inter college Technical fest. FNORD, as a technical festival, began a couple of years back in a big way. Spanning over a massive number of contestants over 3 days with more than 50 events, both technical and informal, FNORD witnessed an overwhelming response from colleges not just in Delhi, but from outside as well. Amongst the various events held are the more popular ones like the ever famous and thrilling foo-The Computer Quiz, LAN gaming, Junkyard, TPP, Debate, GD, Softathlon and C/C++ programming are a must attend, while informal events and off liners like Sudoku, Bomb Diffusion, Check Your Potential, C++ scrabble and Pictionary fired the competition through intermissions! This year, the NIEC IEEE Student Branch brings to you IEEE FNORD'08, taking FNORD a step further in it's journey! FNORD'08 brings to you a plethora of events again this year, along with our MEGA-EVENTS:Ethical hacking-Break D code -- Linux Kernel Hacking (RHL5), ROBO WAR (Robotics), and Crptography (Documentary Presentation)!
